Despite having already 7 years, this p2p client is still the favorite of many users around the world. We believe that the secret to its success is precisely the number of users that gives Emule has a lot of files to share. What we have sought with other programs and could not find, surely we can download it with Emule.
One of its main features is its system of credits, thereby providing faster download, or a preferential position in the download queue to those who contribute most to their network.
The integrated search engine allows us to conduct our consultations on three different networks: ed2k, KAD and exchange sources thus enhancing the chances of finding our file and increasing the download speed.
Another feature that we should highlight is its smart recovery for corrupt files, enabling complete data integrity with a minimum expenditure of re download. That is, if Emule is downloading a file and finds that one of its parts is damaged, it does not cancel the download and start over; instead it recovers the damaged part from another download source. ¿Clever, isn’t it?
Finally, Emule allows the pre viewing of files on traffic, the use of skins to enhance their appearance and also includes an IRC client that you can use to chat with other users around the world and also get help in real time on the official assistance channels of EmuleIRC.
Updates included in version 0.50a:
- The new file verfication algorithm combines ed2k hash with AICH hash to check for corrupt files or portions, this warrants that the weaknesses in MD4 will not affect eMules's hability to find non corrupt files in the future.
- Improved IGU, as part of Windows 7 task bar support, providing easier access to download commands wheneber a new download is started.
- KAD Network improvements: new graphic charts to check our current file exchanges and high speed sownload support.
- Minor bug fixes and several corrections.
